Description: The counter associated with the current number of aborted packets, received from the Physical medium dependent layer in the current 15 minute interval. Aborted packets are packets that have been aborted by an abort sequence code.

What is srpErrCntCurrRingRxAbortPkts?

This 64-bit counter tallies aborted packets — frames that were deliberately truncated mid-transmission using an abort sequence code, counted over the current, still-running 15-minute window. Because the sending node itself signals the abort rather than the frame simply being corrupted in transit, a rise in this counter often correlates with ring protection-switching events (tracked separately by srpRingIntWrapCounter), since a wrap event mid-transmission is a common trigger for a sender to abort a frame in flight. A burst of aborted packets landing in the same 15-minute interval as an increment in srpRingIntWrapCounter would confirm the aborts were triggered by that specific ring wrap event.
