What is ceSctpAssocRemAddressMaxRetran?
This object is the maximum number of DATA retransmissions allowed to one specific remote address before it is marked inactive, with a recommended value of 5. This is the per-path failure threshold: a secondary path with a lower value than the primary would be marked inactive, and excluded from use, faster than the primary tolerates the same loss rate, which matters when deciding how quickly to give up on a flaky backup route versus the main one. With this set to 5 on a given remote address, five consecutive unacknowledged retransmissions to that specific address are enough for SCTP to stop using it and rely on the association's other path or paths.
