An admin can use the growth rate of this counter over time to gauge overall adoption of the email-proxy feature and to correlate spikes with events like a mass password-reset that triggers many short-lived reconnects. For example, a value of 45,000 sessions since a reboot six months ago suggests roughly 250 sessions per business day.
