cpmcNotifEnables

Module: CISCO-PSA-MICROCODE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-PSA-MICROCODE-MIB::cpmcNotifEnables

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.259.1.3.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Description: This variable indicates whether the system produces the ciscoPsaMicrocodeReload notification. A false value will prevent PSA microcode reload notifications from being generated by the system.

What is cpmcNotifEnables?

This writable object controls whether the device sends an SNMP notification whenever a PSA microcode reload occurs on any module, giving an admin a single toggle to enable or suppress that specific alert. It matters operationally because microcode reloads are disruptive events, briefly affecting hardware-accelerated forwarding on that module, that an NMS generally needs to know about, but an admin performing planned, scripted microcode updates across many modules might temporarily disable this to avoid a flood of expected notifications during the maintenance window. Setting this to false before a scripted fleet-wide microcode upgrade prevents dozens of redundant reload notifications from an otherwise noisy, but fully expected, maintenance operation.
