coiIfControllerPreFECBERExponent

Module: CISCO-OTN-IF-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-OTN-IF-MIB::coiIfControllerPreFECBERExponent

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.639.1.1.1.1.11

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: This object gives the exponent part of the Pre FEC BER or correctable BER at any instance of time. It is represented in powers of 10. The mantissa part is defined in coiIfControllerPreFECBERMantissa.

Pre FEC BER is the BER of the signal before it undergoes the FEC algorithm. FEC will correct errors upto a certain Pre FEC BER beyond which the signal starts becoming uncorrectable. Knowing the Pre FEC BER helps monitor system health. Pre FEC BER is expressed in Scientific E notation with two decimal places Example: The value -11 represents the exponent value of 10 to the power of -11.

What is coiIfControllerPreFECBERExponent?

Reports the exponent (power of 10) of the pre-FEC bit error rate measured before error correction is applied, paired with the mantissa value to give the full BER.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.639.1.1.1.1.11
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-OTN-IF-MIB::coiIfControllerPreFECBERExponent

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.639.1.1.1.1.11.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-OTN-IF-MIB::coiIfControllerPreFECBERExponent.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> coiIfControllerPreFECBERExponent.1
