Module: CISCO-NBAR-PROTOCOL-DISCOVERY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-NBAR-PROTOCOL-DISCOVERY-MIB::cnpdThresholdConfigInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.244.1.5.1.1.3

Description: The interval in seconds over which the data is sampled and compared with cnpdThresholdConfigRising and cnpdThresholdConfigFalling thresholds.

What is cnpdThresholdConfigInterval?

This object sets, in seconds, how often the device samples traffic data to compare against the configured rising and falling threshold values for a monitored protocol. It matters because a very short interval can make threshold alerts overly sensitive to brief traffic bursts, while a very long interval can delay detection of a real sustained problem. Setting this to 300 (5 minutes) would smooth out short spikes so a threshold-crossing notification only fires for traffic that is genuinely elevated over a meaningful window, not a one-second blip.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.244.1.5.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-NBAR-PROTOCOL-DISCOVERY-MIB::cnpdThresholdConfigInterval

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.244.1.5.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-NBAR-PROTOCOL-DISCOVERY-MIB::cnpdThresholdConfigInterval.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.244.1.5.1.1.3.1 i <value>
