cieTestConnTrapOnCompletion
Module: CISCO-IP-ENCRYPTION-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-IP-ENCRYPTION-MIB::cieTestConnTrapOnCompletion
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.52.1.4.1.1.4
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: TruthValue
Access: read-write
Description: Specifies whether or not a cieTestCompletion trap should be issued on completion of test crypto session. If such a trap is desired, it is the responsibility of the management entity to ensure that the SNMP administrative model is configured in such a way as to allow the trap to be delivered.
What is cieTestConnTrapOnCompletion?
This is a read-write flag that, per its description, determines whether a cieTestCompletion trap is issued when a test crypto session finishes, and the description notes it's the admin's own responsibility to ensure the SNMP trap-delivery configuration actually gets that trap somewhere. It matters for anyone running on-demand encryption diagnostics on this device, since without this set to true (and a working trap destination configured), the test's completion would go unnoticed except by manually polling status. An admin scripting an automated crypto-connectivity test would set this to true before kicking off the test so the NMS gets notified the moment it finishes.
