cVrrpStatisticsRefreshRate

Module: CISCO-IETF-VRRP-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-IETF-VRRP-MIB::cVrrpStatisticsRefreshRate

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.999.2.5.1.13

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: The minimum reasonable polling interval for this entry. This object provides an indication of the minimum amount of time required to update the counters in this entry.

What is cVrrpStatisticsRefreshRate?

This tells a management station the minimum amount of time actually needed to meaningfully update this entry's counters, given as milliseconds, essentially the device telling monitoring tools not to bother polling faster than this since the numbers won't have changed yet. It exists to prevent poorly-configured monitoring systems from hammering the device with unnecessarily frequent SNMP polls that provide no additional useful resolution on VRRP statistics. A monitoring system polling this virtual router's counters faster than the value reported here is wasting SNMP query overhead without gaining any real-time accuracy benefit.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.999.2.5.1.13
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-IETF-VRRP-MIB::cVrrpStatisticsRefreshRate

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.999.2.5.1.13.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-IETF-VRRP-MIB::cVrrpStatisticsRefreshRate.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> cVrrpStatisticsRefreshRate.1
