Access: read-only

Description: The total number of times that this virtual router's state has transitioned to MASTER.

Discontinuities in the value of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of the corresponding instance of cVrrpStatisticsDiscontinuityTime.

What is cVrrpStatisticsBecomeMaster?

This counts how many times this virtual router instance has transitioned into the master state over its lifetime, subject to discontinuities noted by cVrrpStatisticsDiscontinuityTime, giving a cumulative history of how often this router has taken over active duty for the protected addresses. A high count on a router that's supposed to be a stable, rarely-active backup is a red flag for a flapping redundancy pair, where something is causing frequent, possibly unnecessary master transitions rather than one stable master persisting normally. Comparing this counter's growth rate against known planned maintenance events helps separate expected transitions from unexplained, potentially problematic ones.
