Description: Interleave Delay for this channel.

Interleave delay applies only to the interleave (slow) channel and defines the mapping (relative spacing) between subsequent input bytes at the interleaver input and their placement in the bit stream at the interleaver output. Larger numbers provide greater separation between consecutive input bytes in the output bit stream allowing for improved impulse noise immunity at the expense of payload latency.

In the case where the ifType is fast(125), the object is not instantiated.

What is cvdslChanInterleaveDelay?

This is the actual interleaving delay configured for the slow (interleaved) channel on this line, spacing consecutive input bytes further apart in the transmitted bit stream so that a burst of impulse noise corrupts fewer consecutive original bytes, at the direct cost of added end-to-end latency. It's a real latency-versus-reliability tradeoff dial: raising it improves resilience against noise bursts, like from nearby electrical equipment, but adds delay that can be noticeable for interactive applications. A line in a noisy environment, such as near industrial equipment, might be deliberately configured with a higher interleave delay of 16ms instead of 4ms to trade some latency for meaningfully fewer noise-induced errors.
