Module: CISCO-IETF-PW-ENET-MIB
OID (symbolic): CISCO-IETF-PW-ENET-MIB::cpwVcEnetStatsIllegalVlan
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.108.1.3.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter64
Access: read-only
Description: The number of packets received (from the PSN) on this VC with an illegal VLAN field, missing VLAN field that was expected, or A VLAN field when it was not expected. This counter is not relevant if the VC type is 'ethernet' (i.e. raw mode), and should be set to 0 by the agent to indicate this.
What is cpwVcEnetStatsIllegalVlan?
This is the number of packets received from the PSN on this VC with an illegal VLAN field, a missing VLAN field that was expected, or a VLAN field when none was expected; this counter is not relevant if the VC type is raw-mode ethernet, in which case the agent should set it to 0. A climbing count here on a VLAN-aware VC is a direct sign that frames arriving from the far end do not match the VLAN-tagging expectations configured for this VC, pointing at a VLAN-mode mismatch between the two PE routers terminating the pseudowire; on a raw-mode VC this counter always reads 0 since VLAN handling does not apply there at all. For example, this counter steadily incrementing on a VC configured for noChange VLAN mode would suggest the remote PE is sending untagged frames when this end expects the original customer VLAN tag to still be present.
