cpwVcEnetMplsPriMapping

Module: CISCO-IETF-PW-ENET-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-IETF-PW-ENET-MIB::cpwVcEnetMplsPriMapping

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.108.1.2.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Bits

Access: read-create

Description: This object defines the groups of user PRI mapped into this VC. Each bit set indicates that this user priority is assigned to this VC.

The value 'untagged' is used to indicate that untagged frames are also associated to this VC.

This object allow the use of different PSN COS based on user marking of PRI bits in MPLS PSN with L-LSP or E-LSP without multiple COS support. In all other cases, the default value MUST be used.

It is REQUIRED that there is no overlap on this object between rows serving the same service (port+ PW VLAN).

In case of missing BIT configuration between rows to the same service, incoming packets with PRI marking not configured should be handled by the VC with the lowest COS.

What is cpwVcEnetMplsPriMapping?

This defines the groups of user priority bits mapped into this VC, with each bit set indicating that user priority is assigned to this VC, allowing different PSN classes of service to be based on user 802.1p marking without requiring multiple-COS support elsewhere. This bitmask is the mechanism for mapping specific 802.1p priority bits from customer Ethernet frames onto this particular pseudowire, useful when a single physical port is split across several VCs by priority so that, for example, voice-tagged frames ride a different, better-treated pseudowire than best-effort traffic sharing the same access port. For example, setting only the pri101 and pri110 bits on a voice-dedicated VC while a separate VC on the same port carries the pri000 bit for best-effort traffic implements priority-based traffic separation across two pseudowires sharing one physical Ethernet port.
