This is the number of times a sequence number skip has occurred. A skip happens when the router must jump its LSP sequence number forward by more than one, for example after receiving back its own LSP with a higher sequence number than expected, forcing it to purge and re-originate at an even higher number to reassert authority, so a climbing count often correlates with LSP database instability such as a duplicate System ID conflict. For example, a router repeatedly incrementing this counter alongside frequent purges of its own LSP could indicate another device on the network is accidentally using the same System ID and originating conflicting LSPs.
