Description: An offset to a problem in a PDU. If the problem is a malformed TLV, this points to the beginning of the TLV. If the problem is in the header, this points to the byte that is suspicious.

What is ciiErrorOffset?

This is an offset to a problem in a PDU: if the problem is a malformed TLV, it points to the beginning of the TLV, and if the problem is in the header, it points to the suspicious byte. This notification-only object gives the admin a precise byte offset into the offending PDU, paired with ciiPduFragment's captured header bytes, pinpointing exactly where the parsing problem was detected and turning a vague malformed-PDU alert into an actionable pointer at the specific byte or TLV boundary responsible. For example, an offset of 12 combined with the captured PDU fragment would let the admin jump straight to byte 12 of the header to see precisely which field looked wrong, rather than manually decoding the entire PDU from scratch.
