cmplsFrrActProtectedIfs

Module: CISCO-IETF-FRR-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-IETF-FRR-MIB::cmplsFrrActProtectedIfs

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.98.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-only

Description: Indicates the number of interfaces currently being protected by the FRR feature if mplsFrrConstProtectionMethod is set to facilityBackup(1), otherwise this value should return 0 to indicate that LSPs traversing any interface may be protected. This value MUST be less than or equal to mplsFrrConfIfs.

What is cmplsFrrActProtectedIfs?

This shows how many interfaces are currently being protected by FRR under facilityBackup mode, returning 0 otherwise, and the object requires this value never exceed cmplsFrrNumOfConfIfs. Comparing this live count against the configured count lets an admin spot interfaces that were configured for protection but never actually achieved it -- for example due to a missing bypass tunnel -- since this value can be less but never more than the configured figure. For example, if 5 interfaces were configured for protection but only 3 show as actively protected, 2 interfaces are running unprotected despite the intended configuration.
