Description: This object indicates the dampening interval for the rising threshold, for the threshold configuration. That means, an interval during which variations in the rising and falling threshold values are not notified to any resource user(s).

If the dampening interval for the rising threshold is not configured, it will contain zero.

What is cermPolicyRisingInterval?

This is the dampening interval for the rising threshold defined in this policy entry -- the window during which fluctuating usage near the threshold will not generate repeated notifications -- and it defaults to zero, no dampening, if never explicitly configured. A zero value here specifically means every single crossing of the rising threshold, however brief, generates an immediate notification, which can produce alert storms on a resource pool that oscillates right around its threshold. A policy left with this interval at the default zero on a CPU threshold that hovers right at the boundary during normal traffic bursts would generate a fresh up notification every time usage ticks over, rather than only once per sustained excursion.
