Description: A count of the number of Organization Specific OAMPDUs transmitted on this interface.

Discontinuities of this counter can occur at re-initialization of the management system, and at other times as indicated by the value of the ifCounterDiscontinuityTime.

What is cdot3OamOrgSpecificTx?

This counter tracks how many Organization-Specific OAMPDUs, vendor-defined Ethernet OAM protocol data units distinct from the standard 802.3ah OAM message types, have been transmitted on this interface. Because these are vendor or organization-specific extensions rather than standard OAM discovery or loopback messages, a nonzero and growing count here reflects use of a vendor-specific OAM extension feature on this link, which an admin would want to understand before assuming it's unnecessary traffic on an otherwise standards-only OAM session. An admin auditing Ethernet OAM traffic on a metro link who sees this counter climbing when no vendor-specific OAM feature was intentionally configured would investigate what's generating those organization-specific PDUs, since it could indicate an unexpected feature or a misbehaving peer device.
