ccarStatFilteredBytesOverflow

Module: CISCO-CAR-MIB

OID (symbolic): CISCO-CAR-MIB::ccarStatFilteredBytesOverflow

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The high-word of the counter of bytes which exceeded this rate limit.

NOTE: The object ccarStatFilteredBytes contains the lower 32 bits of the filtered byte counts. If the number of filtered bytes is larger than what can be stored in a 32 bit value, then the high word value is stored in this object. As such SNMP Manager applications should combine this object along with the ccarStatFilteredBytes object to come up with the 64-bit value.

SNMP v2c or v3 Manager can use the ccarStatHCFilteredBytes object directly (which is a 64-bit object).

What is ccarStatFilteredBytesOverflow?

This read-only counter holds the high-word of the count of bytes which exceeded this rate limit, meant to be combined with ccarStatFilteredBytes once that 32-bit counter wraps. Combined with ccarStatFilteredBytes, it gives the true cumulative volume of traffic that exceeded this entry's rate limit over the object's entire lifetime, useful when justifying a rate-limit policy change with total excess-traffic volume rather than just a recent sample. Reporting that a rate-limit entry filtered 50 GB of excess traffic over its lifetime, to justify raising the configured rate, would require combining this overflow object with ccarStatFilteredBytes.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-CAR-MIB::ccarStatFilteredBytesOverflow

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.113.1.2.1.1.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CISCO-CAR-MIB::ccarStatFilteredBytesOverflow.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> ccarStatFilteredBytesOverflow.1
