Description: Extensible Authentication Protocol methods allowed for this supplicant.
What is cienaCes8021xSuppEAPAllowedMethods?
This is a bitmask where each bit independently enables or disables one EAP authentication method the switch, acting as a supplicant, is permitted to use -- bit 0 for the older, weaker EAP-MD5 and bit 1 for the stronger certificate-based EAP-TLS -- replacing the obsolete single-choice cienaCes8021xSuppEAPMethod object. An admin sets this to control the security posture of the switch's own upstream authentication, for example disabling the eapMd5 bit entirely on a security-hardened deployment to force only certificate-based EAP-TLS, which the surrounding certificate-related objects in this MIB clearly support. For example, setting this bitmask to enable only bit 1 (eapTls) means the switch will refuse to fall back to EAP-MD5 even if offered by the authentication server, closing off a weaker authentication path.
