chasEnvrmnt2TempRange2

Module: CHASSIS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CHASSIS-MIB::chasEnvrmnt2TempRange2

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.800.2.1.5.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: XylanTempStateType

Access: read-only

Description: This field contains the state of the temp sensor located on the Secondary MPM. This is temperature sensor 1. If there is no Secondary MPM or if the module type is mpm(5) the value returned is notPresent(2). On other MPM types a returned value of underThreshold(4) indcates that the temperature is NOT too low and overThreshold(3) indicates that the temperature IS too low.

What is chasEnvrmnt2TempRange2?

This object reports the state of the second temperature sensor (sensor 1) on the Secondary MPM, returning notPresent if there's no Secondary MPM installed or if the module type is mpm(5), and like its Primary-side counterpart uses underThreshold/overThreshold to flag whether the temperature is too low rather than too high. An admin in a chassis without a Secondary MPM installed should expect this object to always report notPresent and shouldn't mistake that for an actual sensor reading of fine. In a single-controller chassis with no Secondary MPM, this object would permanently report notPresent(2) rather than ever reflecting an actual temperature condition.
