chasAccountThreshold2

Module: CHASSIS-MIB

OID (symbolic): CHASSIS-MIB::chasAccountThreshold2

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.800.2.1.7.19

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The second filling level of the intermediate storage area for accounting data. Crossing this threshold generates a warning, the current TCP connection is closed and a new one is established towards the alternate collection device. The level is expressed as a percentage of size.

What is chasAccountThreshold2?

This object sets the accounting buffer fill-level percentage that, once crossed, not only generates a warning but also forces the chassis to close its current TCP connection to the accounting collector and establish a new one to the alternate collection device. An admin relies on this threshold as the automatic failover trigger for billing collection; reaching it means the primary collector path is failing to keep up, so the switch proactively moves to the secondary device rather than risk data loss. If this object is set to 60 and the buffer hits 60%, the chassis will drop its connection to the primary billing collector and switch to the secondary device configured in chasAccountDeviceSecondary.
