vci

Module: CHANNEL-CHANGE-MIB

OID (symbolic): CHANNEL-CHANGE-MIB::vci

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-create

Description: The value of this object is equal to the VCI allocated to the replication point (ATM VCC) in the OLT/ONU for this channel.

What is vci?

This object holds the ATM Virtual Channel Identifier (VCI) paired with vpi to fully identify the ATM VCC used to replicate this channel in the OLT/ONU. Since the valid range starts at 32 (VCIs 0-31 are reserved for ATM signaling/OAM), an admin reading this value can confirm the channel isn't mistakenly bound to a reserved VCI, which would break channel delivery. A channel might show vci=1024, meaning it rides on VCC 0/1024 dedicated to replicating that broadcast stream to DSL subscribers.
