Description: This parameter indicates the size of the antenna used in the ODU. This attribute will not auto-detect the antenna size. It is used for the unfaded RSL calculation feature included in the element manager.
What is gnOduCfgAntennaType?
This tells the radio's element manager what physical antenna size is mounted on this outdoor unit, a value the equipment cannot auto-detect and must be manually configured, and it feeds directly into the unfaded received signal level calculation the management software uses to judge link performance against expectation. An incorrect antenna size here would skew the calculated theoretical RSL baseline, making a perfectly healthy link look like it's underperforming, or masking real degradation, when the management software compares actual RSL against a wrong expected value. If a technician upgrades a link's antenna from 2 feet to 4 feet during a capacity expansion but forgets to update this object, all subsequent RSL-based fade-margin alerts on that link will be calculated against the wrong baseline.
