Description: This parameter controls the loop back diagnostics operations. For remote units, only SPI, MUX and MDM loopbacks are allowed.

What is gnGenCfgActivateLoopback?

Writing one of the non-noOperation values here triggers a specific loopback diagnostic on this Ceragon microwave radio link, looping traffic back at a chosen point in the signal path, the SPI interface, the modem, the outer SPI, or locally at the ODU, so a technician can isolate where a fault lies without needing hands on the far-end equipment. The description specifically warns that on remote units only SPI, MUX, and MDM loopbacks are permitted, so attempting localODUloopback(10) on a remote unit would be an invalid operation. A field technician troubleshooting a suspected modem fault on the near-end unit would set this to loopbackMDM(5) and then check for a clean loopback response before ruling the modem good or bad.
