Description: The type of file image to upload/download. The file type indicates to the agent what kind of file it is receiving. configuration(1) indicates an update of the system configuration. imageCode(2) indicates a code upgrade of the operational proms. bootCode(3) indicates a code upgrade of the boot proms.

What is sysTFTPFileType?

This selects what kind of file a TFTP upload or download operation on this switch is transferring: configuration (1) for a system configuration update, or imageCode (2) for an operational firmware upgrade (the description also references a bootCode(3) option for boot-prom upgrades, though only two values are enumerated in this syntax). An admin must set this correctly before triggering a TFTP transfer, since the agent uses this value to know how to interpret and apply the incoming file. For example, setting this to configuration before a TFTP pull would have the switch treat the incoming file as a configuration restore rather than attempting to flash it as firmware.
