Description: Cellular Tracking Area Code(TAC). Remark: If the value equals -1, means TAC not applicable in this cellular.
What is cellularTac?
This reports the Tracking Area Code the cellular device is currently registered in, the LTE-era equivalent of the older Location Area Code, with -1 meaning not applicable when the device isn't on LTE. An admin uses this to know which LTE tracking area the device last registered with, which is useful when diagnosing handover or registration delays as a device moves between coverage areas. For example, a TAC value that changes rapidly across repeated polls could indicate the device is physically moving between tracking areas or is stuck ping-ponging between two nearby towers.
