cellularSignalSinr

Module: CELLULAR

OID (symbolic): CELLULAR::cellularSignalSinr

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.23695.200.1.12.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Integer32

Access: read-only

Description: Cellular SINR (units: dB). Remark: If the value equals -9999, means signal strength not applicable in this cellular.

What is cellularSignalSinr?

This reports the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio for the cellular connection, in dB, again using -9999 to mean not applicable to this cellular state. SINR is the more complete quality metric for LTE/newer connections since it accounts for interference from neighboring cells in addition to background noise, giving an admin a better predictor of actual achievable throughput than RSSI alone. For example, a high RSSI paired with a poor SINR would point to interference from a nearby cell tower as the real bottleneck rather than distance from the serving tower.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.23695.200.1.12.1.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CELLULAR::cellularSignalSinr
