Description: Cellular Location Area Code(LAC). Remark: If the value equals -1, means LAC not applicable in this cellular.
What is cellularLac?
This reports the Location Area Code the cellular device is currently registered in, a code identifying a geographic grouping of cell towers under older (pre-LTE) cellular network architectures, with -1 meaning this value doesn't apply to the current cellular connection. An admin would check this specifically when the device is on 2G/3G technology, since LAC has no meaning under LTE, where cellularTac is the analogous value instead. For example, seeing -1 here while the device shows an LTE network type confirms LAC is correctly inapplicable, and an admin should check cellularTac instead for the equivalent registration-area information.
