This reports the number of management buffers currently available, free, for use on this node, applicable to all platforms except the VG100. This is a third, distinct buffer pool, separate from data and packet buffers, specifically reserved for management-plane functions, so an admin whose control or management traffic, such as SNMP or terminal sessions, is behaving sluggishly would check this pool specifically rather than the data or packet buffer pools which serve the forwarding plane. For example, management buffers running low while data and packet buffers remain healthy would point specifically at heavy SNMP polling or many simultaneous control-terminal sessions rather than a data-plane traffic problem.
