This read-write object sets the SNMP community string included in traps sent from the unit. This string must match what the receiving trap manager expects in order for the notification to be accepted and processed rather than silently discarded as an untrusted or unrecognized source -- a mismatch here is a common, easy-to-overlook reason why configured trap destinations never seem to actually generate visible alerts on the NMS side. If a NOC's trap receiver is configured to only accept traps carrying a specific community string, this object must be set to exactly that string, or every trap the modem sends will be dropped by the receiver despite reaching it over the network.
