This counter tracks the count of payload bytes received over the satellite interface, explicitly excluding any frame overhead. This is the truest measure of useful data throughput delivered by the satellite link, since it strips out the HDLC header overhead counted separately elsewhere; an admin computing actual achieved throughput for an SLA report should use this counter rather than the raw symbol or data rate settings. If a customer is provisioned for a 2 Mbps link but this counter's growth rate works out to only 1.7 Mbps of effective payload, the difference is the framing overhead plus any retransmission or error losses, useful context for explaining the gap to the customer.
