Writing reset(3) to this object clears all address-table entries learned on this specific port and simultaneously zeroes that port's traffic counters and reset timer, going a step further than cat2600TsPortResetStats which only clears counters. An admin uses this when a port has learned a stale or corrupted set of MAC addresses -- for instance after moving a batch of devices to a different segment -- and needs the port to relearn its station population from scratch. Because this forces relearning, expect a temporary burst of flooded unicast frames on that port immediately afterward.
