localPacketFiltering

Module: CAMBIUM-PTP600-MIB

OID (symbolic): CAMBIUM-PTP600-MIB::localPacketFiltering

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.17713.6.4.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: When Local Packet Filtering is Enabled, the bridge learns the source MAC addresses of devices transmitting Ethernet packets on the local Ethernet network, and only bridges packets to the remote unit if the destination MAC address has not been learnt as a 'local' device. When Local Packet Filtering is Disabled then the bridge does not learn the source MAC addresses of devices transmitting Ethernet packets on the local Ethernet network, and bridges ALL Ethernet packets received to the remote unit. Local Packet Filtering should be enabled if no external routing hardware is present

What is localPacketFiltering?

This setting controls whether the bridge learns the source MAC addresses of devices on the local Ethernet network and only forwards traffic across the wireless link to unlearned (non-local) destinations. When disabled, the bridge instead forwards every Ethernet packet it receives across to the remote unit; Cambium recommends enabling this when no external routing hardware is present.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CAMBIUM-PTP600-MIB::localPacketFiltering

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.17713.6.4.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CAMBIUM-PTP600-MIB::localPacketFiltering.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.17713.6.4.1.1 i <value>
