This read-only setting, applicable only to asynchronous ports, specifies the control-signal handshake required for a connection: simp(0) means no control signals are required, and simpa(15) means CTS follows RTS but control signals still aren't strictly required; newvalSimp(50) is an equivalent alias for simp added for RFC1155 compatibility.
