printQAction

Module: BSDUNIX-MIB

OID (symbolic): BSDUNIX-MIB::printQAction

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.6.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: A control variable used to trigger an action on a queue in the printer table. When read, this variable always returns the most recent value that it was previously set to. If it has not been set since the last initialization of the network management subsystem on the node, it returns a value of `other'.

When set, this variable causes the queue to undertake the indicated action:

abort - terminate the current job printing in the queue and disable printing other jobs

clean - remove incomplete jobs from the queue

enable - enable spooling on the queue

disable - disable spooling on the queue

restart - restart printing from the queue

start - start printing from the queue

stop - stop printing from the queue after the current job completes printing

What is printQAction?

A read-write control variable that allows an SNMP manager to trigger administrative actions on a printer queue, such as enabling, disabling, or clearing it. Reading it returns the most recently set action value.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.6.1.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> BSDUNIX-MIB::printQAction

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.6.1.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> BSDUNIX-MIB::printQAction.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.6.1.1.5.1 i <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> printQAction.1
