Module: BSDUNIX-MIB

OID (symbolic): BSDUNIX-MIB::mbufDrops

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.2.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

What is mbufDrops?

Counts the number of times a request to allocate an mbuf (kernel network memory buffer) failed because no memory was available. This read-only counter indicates kernel buffer exhaustion events that can lead to packet loss on BSD Unix systems.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.2.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> BSDUNIX-MIB::mbufDrops

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.2.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> BSDUNIX-MIB::mbufDrops.1
