Module: BSDUNIX-MIB

OID (symbolic): BSDUNIX-MIB::mbufDrains

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.2.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Description: The number of times protocols were drained for space.

What is mbufDrains?

Counts the number of times the kernel had to drain protocol buffers to free up space for new memory buffers. This is a sign of memory contention in the network stack, where existing protocol data had to be discarded to reclaim resources.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.2.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> BSDUNIX-MIB::mbufDrains

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4.2.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> BSDUNIX-MIB::mbufDrains.1
