This read-write field selects the bridging mode for this source-route link: normal uses the Link Control Protocol to learn the remote ring number from another bridge, rfc1294 uses RFC1294/1490 bridging to reach another bridge or FRAD, and trans performs translational bridging of frames coming from a transparent bridge.
