bsmfVlanMulticastFloodingEnabled

Module: BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB

OID (symbolic): BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB::bsmfVlanMulticastFloodingEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.4.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates whether filtering of multicast MAC addresses to be flooded is enabled on a per-vlan basis. If the value of this object is false(2), then multicast packets are always flooded to all ports of a vlan. Otherwise, if the value is true(1), multicast packets that do not match an address in the bsmfVlanAllowedAddressTable are flooded only to IGMP multicast router ports, and multicast packets that do match an address in the bsmfAllowedAddressTable are flooded to all ports.

What is bsmfVlanMulticastFloodingEnabled?

Controls selective multicast flooding filtering on a per-VLAN basis; when enabled, only multicast addresses in the VLAN-specific allowed list are flooded within that VLAN, while unlisted multicast traffic is dropped. When disabled, all multicast packets flood to every port in the VLAN regardless of address.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.4.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB::bsmfVlanMulticastFloodingEnabled

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.4.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB::bsmfVlanMulticastFloodingEnabled.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.4.1.2.1 s <value>
