bsmfMulticastFloodingEnabled

Module: BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB

OID (symbolic): BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB::bsmfMulticastFloodingEnabled

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object indicates whether filtering of multicast MAC addresses to be flooded is enabled. If the value of this object is false(2), then multicast packets are always flooded to all ports. Otherwise, if the value is true(1), multicast packets that do not match an address in the bsmfAllowedAddressTable are flooded only to IGMP multicast router ports, and multicast packets that do match an address in the bsmfAllowedAddressTable are flooded to all ports.

What is bsmfMulticastFloodingEnabled?

Controls whether selective multicast flooding filtering is active on the switch; when enabled, only multicast MAC addresses listed in the allowed-address table are flooded to all ports, blocking unlisted multicast traffic. When disabled, all multicast packets are flooded unconditionally to every port.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.1.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB::bsmfMulticastFloodingEnabled

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.1.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> BAY-STACK-MULTICAST-FLOODING-MIB::bsmfMulticastFloodingEnabled.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.45.5.6.1.1.1 s <value>
