apmTransactionResponsivenessAlarm

Module: APM-MIB

OID (symbolic): APM-MIB::apmTransactionResponsivenessAlarm

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.23.0.1

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: Notification sent when a transaction exceeds a threshold defined in the apmException table. The index of the included apmExceptionResponsivenessThreshold object identifies the apmExceptionEntry that specified the threshold. The apmTransactionResponsiveness variable identifies the actual transaction and its responsiveness.

Agent implementors are urged to include additional data objects in the alarm that may explain the reason for the alarm. It is helpful to include such data in the alarm because it describes the situation at the time the alarm was generated, where polls after the fact may not provide meaningful information. Examples of such information are CPU load, memory utilization, network utilization, and transaction statistics.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' APM-MIB::apmTransactionResponsivenessAlarm
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.2.1.16.23.0.1

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public

Example snmptrapd log entry:

zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:59031->[192.168.30.10]:162]:
  DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (390453399) 45 days, 4:35:33.99
  SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: APM-MIB::apmTransactionResponsivenessAlarm
