Description: Relevant only when ERRFWD=TXOFF. Enables/disables the possibility to delay turning off and on the the transmitter. This applies to the case when turning off the transmitter is done as an error forwarding mechanism.
What is physicalPortCapTxOffOnTm?
This OID controls whether the transmitter can introduce a delay before powering off during error-forwarding events, instead of dropping transmission immediately. Network engineers configure this to allow graceful service degradation when errors occur, avoiding sudden traffic loss. For example, a value of 'enabled' lets the port delay shutdown by the interval specified in TxOffTimer, giving software time to reroute traffic.
