This OID stores the largest packet loss gap as a 64-bit counter to eliminate overflow problems on high-speed or high-loss links. Network engineers prefer this counter when available because it delivers the accurate worst-case loss burst without risk of wraparound. For example, a value of 5000000 means the largest consecutive sequence of lost packets was 5 million packets.
