accUnitName
Module: ACC-SYSTEM
OID (symbolic): ACC-SYSTEM::accUnitName
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.1.1.1
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: DisplayString
Access: read-write
Description:
A printable ASCII string up to 32 octets long that is used to refer to a physical unit. This name is used in the prompt displayed at the maintenance terminal.
What is accUnitName?
This read-write OID stores a human-readable name (up to 32 characters) assigned to the physical device, similar to a hostname. Network administrators set this to identify equipment in the network and it appears in terminal prompts for troubleshooting. For example, you might set this to 'core-switch-01' so when you log in, the prompt displays '[core-switch-01]>' instead of an IP address.
