accStpMcastAddr

Module: ACC-STP

OID (symbolic): ACC-STP::accStpMcastAddr

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: A unique MAC group address, recognised by all the Bridges within the Bridged Local Area Network.

What is accStpMcastAddr?

This OID stores the MAC address (in OCTET STRING format) that all bridges in the network use to recognize and communicate spanning tree protocol messages. You configure this to ensure all bridges recognize the same multicast destination for STP BPDUs, allowing them to form a unified spanning tree. For example, the standard Spanning Tree multicast address is 01:80:C2:00:00:00, which all IEEE 802.1D bridges recognize.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.6
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-STP::accStpMcastAddr

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.6.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-STP::accStpMcastAddr.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.6.1 s <value>
