accStpHelloTime

Module: ACC-STP

OID (symbolic): ACC-STP::accStpHelloTime

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.14

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Description: Interval between Hello frames that this Bridge will initiate when it is Root or is attempting to be Root.

What is accStpHelloTime?

This read-write OID (2-1800 seconds) controls how often the root bridge sends Hello messages to keep all bridges synchronized. You adjust this to balance topology responsiveness (lower values detect failures faster) against network traffic (higher values reduce overhead). For example, setting this to 2 seconds makes STP detect link failures quickly, but generates more SNMP traffic; 10 seconds is gentler on the network.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.14
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-STP::accStpHelloTime

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.14.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-STP::accStpHelloTime.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.2.14.1 i <value>
