accRipUpdateTimer

Module: ACC-RIP

OID (symbolic): ACC-RIP::accRipUpdateTimer

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TimeTicks

Access: read-write

Description:

This unit will send updates to its neighbors at the interval established by this timer. Note that all other RIP timers are scaled off this value.

What is accRipUpdateTimer?

This OID stores the interval (in TimeTicks, which are hundredths of a second) at which the device sends routing updates to its RIP neighbors, and all other RIP timers scale relative to this value. You adjust this setting to balance between network responsiveness to routing changes and bandwidth usage; longer intervals reduce update traffic but slow convergence. For example, a value of 3000 (30 seconds) tells the device to broadcast its routing table to neighbors every 30 seconds.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-RIP::accRipUpdateTimer

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-RIP::accRipUpdateTimer.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.2.1 i <value>
