accRipUpdateIntTrap
Module: ACC-RIP
OID (symbolic): ACC-RIP::accRipUpdateIntTrap
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.20.0.10
Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE
Description:
Occurs when the number of routes that RIP must send in the updates out an interface causes the ppu value and inter-packet gap to exceed the RIP update interval of the iterface. To rectify this, either shorten the inter-packet interval or increase the number of packets-per-update. Another solution is to reduce the number of routes sent out the interface by implementing policy or aggregation. SEVERITY-DEFAULT: Major EVENTTYPE-DEFAULT: 10 ADDITIONAL-TEXT-VARIABLES: { accTrapLogSeqNum,accRipTrapMsg } PCAUSE-DEFAULT: 8
Examples
Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' ACC-RIP::accRipUpdateIntTrap snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.20.0.10
Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):
snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
Example snmptrapd log entry:
zoo11-linux.zoo [UDP: [192.168.30.111]:58825->[192.168.30.10]:162]: DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (323335113) 37 days, 10:09:11.13 SNMPv2-MIB::snmpTrapOID.0 = OID: ACC-RIP::accRipUpdateIntTrap
