accRipAdminStatus

Module: ACC-RIP

OID (symbolic): ACC-RIP::accRipAdminStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description:

Adminstrative status of RIP protocol. Extended causes subnet mask information to be included in RIP packets, permitting variable-length subnet masking.

What is accRipAdminStatus?

This OID controls the administrative status of the RIP (Routing Information Protocol) on the device, with enumerated integer values to enable or disable the protocol, and possibly extend its capability for variable-length subnet masking. You use this to turn RIP routing on or off without rebooting, allowing the device to participate in dynamic routing when needed. Setting the value to 'extended' enables the device to include subnet masks in RIP packets, enabling proper routing across networks with different subnet mask lengths.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ACC-RIP::accRipAdminStatus

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ACC-RIP::accRipAdminStatus.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5.1.1.16.1.1 i <value>
