This counter tracks malformed or corrupted RIP packets arriving at this device. Rising counts indicate routing protocol problems that can prevent proper path discovery and network connectivity. A value of 50 means the device has encountered 50 bad RIP packets, possibly due to cable issues or device misconfiguration.
